Some commercial publishers are offering free ac
cess to resources at the moment. Elsevier has launched the
Coronavirus Information Center with free information in English and Mandarin on the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV.
Wiley has made available free access to over 50 scientific and medical articles from its journals.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering has built online dashboard for tracking the worldwide spread of the coronavirus outbreak . this focuses on maps to track the spread of the disease. The statistics behind the data visualization are being collected from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, and Dingxiangyuan, a social networking site for health care professionals that provides real-time information on cases.

Frederick Douglass Newspapers, 1847 to 1874

A new great collection from the Library of Congress which is free online for all.

The former slave and abolitionist edited a number of newspapers. 565 issues of three weekly newspaper titles can be accessed they are: Frederick Douglass' Paper., North Star and New National Era.

All contain features on black civil rights, abolition of slavery,  race relations in the USA and black culture and self-improvement.. There are galleries of selected images and essays and teacher’s resources which set the materials in context. They help students to understand the language used in the content which would now be considered outdated and on occasions unacceptable.

The 2020 Edelman Trust Barometer measures levels of trust in business, NGOs and the media. It records declining levels of trust in the media and government who are perceived as both incompetent and unethical. The online survey was conducted in 28 markets.34,000+ respondents total. Transparency International recently released the Corruption Perceptions Index. The CPI scores 180 countries and territories by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, according to experts and business people. This year Denmark and New Zealand are viewed as the leastr corrupt in terms of election integrity and the power of money in politics.





CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) a tool to interpret citations with hundreds of authors!



A taxonomy which allocates 14 different roles, played by contributors to scientific scholarly output. The roles describe each contributor’s specific contribution to the scholarly output. It can help rank the relative importance of each contributor and is now being adopted by a number of publishers including Elsevier.
