Human Rights Impact Assessment Framework,launched recently by Oxfam a useful new toolkit which aims to allow assessments of how good companies’ Human Rights Impact Assessments are. It covers both the process and content enabling strengths and weaknesses to be identified, wealth inequality trends over time and business and household assets.

 

 

Be My Best Self is a tool developed by Dolphin which aims to help individuals reflect on and understand their accessibility needs. It has five questions in a survey format which are submitted to the company who need send back a personal document which can lead to discussions with employers, educational establishments and family members on what types of reasonable adjustments might help in order to start a conversation.

 

GC wealth website

Is a new tool for understanding wealth inequality which has been developed by Stone Center at the Graduate Center, CUNY,it comprises data and a library of research papers. Topics covered include country files on wealth distribution, discussion of inheritance, taxes and wealth distribution.

 

 

Health-enhancing physical activity: WHO/Europe database

a new database which contains data on policies that have been implemented to promote healthy active lifestyles. There are 23 indicators . Material derived from a 2021 survey full methodology provided. It includes: community health indicators, infrastructure, funding, levels of cycling.

 

Researchers Create CO2 Measurement Tool to Calculate Emissions Caused by Stored Digital Data

Loughborough university have devised a carbon ladder tool to measure each stage

Finally A major exhibition about punk, Rage and Revolution is now on at New Walk Museum, Leicester. A contributor to the exhibition is Emma Parker from the School of English.  Emma will be hosting a Punk Literature event as part of the punk weekender on 19th August.
