British Library launch covid 19 oral history
testimony database
Now available to download from the British Library website where can find information about oral history projects undertaken by local record offices across the Uk to preserve the people memory of lockdown, life and experiences in 2020-21 for future generations. Each entry has a link to the website and contact details.
News from the LSE, the LSE archives was recently lucky enough to use an endowment fund from the Women’s library to purchase a letter which gives an account of suffragette Emily Wilding Davison. It contains an account from a witness who visited the hospital after she was hit by a horse at the 1913 Epsom Derby and believed she was regaining consciousness. It can be viewed on a Google Arts and Culture exhibition of her life

focus area demonstrates ways in which air pollution and climate
change contribute to environmental change
In
the agriculture focus area,
users can explore satellite data that provides insights into agricultural
production, crop conditions, and food supply.
The biomass focus area features
a story describing how trees and plants remove substantial amounts of carbon
dioxide out of the atmosphere each year.
In
the cryosphere focus area,
a story on the effects of global temperature rise on the extent of sea ice
allows the reader to interact with a geographic visualization of a JAXA sea ice
dataset.
The water and ocean area focuses
on Earth’s largest natural resource and enables users to discover a view of the
ocean that is as rich and complex as that of land.
The economy focus area provides access to datasets that show how Earth’s social and economic systems are connected to the environment.
Based on
research from Bath Abbey, Bath Record Office and Bath Preservation Trust
funded by the National lotter this website contains information on Bath’s
links to the transatlantic slave trade. It is based on research
conducted in local newspaper the Bath Chronicle from 1760 to 1780. The website
contains discussion of contemporary words used to discuss slavery and race. It
also has articles, contextual images and some original documents. It includes
details of profit, trade and images of it in Georgian England
