REALM Project Releases Systematic Literature Review
The Reopening Museum, Archives and Libraries group has just published their third latest systematic Literature Review summarising evidence from research publications covering issues relating to the sector including
how the virus is spread, virus attenuation on commonly found materials in libraries e.g., books, dustcovers etc, and effectiveness of various prevention and decontamination measures.
Global Social Responses to Covid-19 Web Archive (Ivy Plus Libraries Confederation)
The Ivy Plus web archive has created a record of the evolution of Covid-19’s social impact since March 2020 by preserving snapshots of key websites from areas of the global south these include.
- Sites published by NGOs that focus on public health, humanitarian relief, education, etc.
- Sites published by artists.
- local regional language news sources.
- Blogs and social media pages.
The snapshots are arranged by region and curated by language specialists.
each regional section has a written overview of what has been preserved plus explanations of other related web archives which would be useful for guiding researchers.
Social Mobility Barometer 2021
The latest annual report from the UK Social Mobility Commission is a poll of what the public think about equality and social mobility. This year it includes what people think about the impact of the pandemic on the chances of social mobility.
Over half the public (56%) think the pandemic has increased social inequality.
Only one in four (25%) people from black and ethnic minority groups believe we live in a fair society.
Also included are opinions on what they feel the future priorities of the government should be . Information on the methodology is provided on the website.
A new project collecting data on religious repression, disorder and violence. Coverage beginning at the end of January 2021. The pilot project currently collects real-time data on seven countries in the Middle East and North Africa: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, and Yemen.

The latest annual report from Freedom House which maps trends in democracy worldwide. This year it has materials on the impact of the pandemic on democracy. There are country files, rankings and regional reports which can all be downloaded from the website where the full range of earlier reports and methodology can also be viewed.
Sounds of Singapore: SoundScapeSG
A crowd-sourcing initiative which aims to build a sound map of Singapore. It was launched by the National Library Board (NLB)of Singapore in 2020
Collections include wildlife, festivals, sounds of the workplace, accents, and dialects geolocated on national map.

Oman Library at the Middle East Institute (MEI) digital collection includes rare books published 1700-1921 in 7 Middle Eastern languages including Arabic, French and Turkish. All topics of Middle eastern history, culture and politics are covered.
Manuscripts of the Jaffna Bishop's house
One of the latest endangered archive programme projects from the great British library. Contains over 400 documents relating to the history of the people of Jaffna and to the history of the Christian missions in pre independent Sri Lanka. They are very important to understand the influence of the European-Portuguese, Dutch and British-colonial powers in the region. They include manuscripts and papers produced by local people and or first-hand witnesses.
