The University of Miami’s COVID-19 Observatory collects, analyzes, and shares national and subnational policy data about the COVID-19 pandemic in Latin America 

 

Digital ID despatches from Africa 

Insight on the current state of biometrics and digital id in Africa. Research ICT Africa (RIA) and the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) recently partnered to investigate the nature, development and potential impacts of digital ID processes in 10 African countries. Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe  


Ambedkar and LSE- New online exhibition 

 An online resource  focussing on the importance of BR Ambedkar who was born into poverty in India in 1891 but became a significant political and legal scholar who campaigned for the representation and rights of Dalit communities and was involved in the Independence movement in India; and Chair of the Drafting Committee for the Indian constitution. The exhibition is a collaboration between the LSE South Asia Centre, LSE Library and DecolonisingLSE Collective. It contains Ambedkar’s student file including his application to the LSE, attendance record and notes on his application. It will also be developed with recordings of events and reflections on his role by scholars 


SSRN’s Pride Month Hub  
SSRN, Elsevier’s platform now provides access to recent working papers and research on LGBT Plus issues from scholars gathered together in one section. They include legal research, political and social issues. Note that these papers are not peer reviewed. 

 Waterways Ireland Digital Archive 

Recently launched  this website provides free access to over 7800 materials from Waterways Ireland which have been digitised. They include an engineering collection of maps and sketches of plans for Irish canals and waterways, oral history materials and photographs of value to social and economic historians

Muhammad Ali Digital Archive
The online collection of the  multicultural centre dedicated to the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali. It includes a biography, timeline, oral history and online exhibits relating to the famous boxer and human rights campaigner. These include examples of his image in popular culture which would be of value to social historians. More materials from his archive are being added on a rolling basis  

 

Belgian Refugees 

a digital humanities project funded by the AHRC and run by the Universities of Leeds, Leuven and UCL, which traces and records Belgian refugees who came to the UK during the First World War.It has a database of information about names, individuals and their locations and careers 


Beyond the Revolution: Bibliothèque Haïtienne des Frères de l’Instruction Chrétienne Collections, Bringing Nineteenth-Century Haitian History to the World (EAP1024) 

One of the latest British Library Endangered archives projects which has digitised the full text of  over 90 19th century newspapers from Haiti they cover a. period of change from 1813 – 1900 when the region was emerging from slavery
