Interesting WHO Europe website created for the Euros which provides a snapshot of the Covid situation and public health measures in each of the host cities. Data includes number allowed in the stadium, quarantine, epidemiology trends in the region

Thought provoking presentation "Colour Blind: Investigating the racial bias of virtual reference services in English academic libraries" - Sally Hamer 

Recording of session delivered at Critical Approaches to Libraries Conference (CALC) 2021. This really made me think about how I address students in email and the potential impact of this. It is based on Sally Hamer's MA dissertation work at UCL. This  has just been published in JAL. AMBULO - Arabic Manuscripts in the Bologna University Library Online
Project of the King 'Abdulaziz Chair for Islamic Studies - University of Bologna (Italy) 

"It provides free access to  450 online  Arabic manuscripts, belonging to the collection of Luigi Ferdinando Marsili (1658-1730) which have been digitised.  They date from 13-17th century and cover a range of topics including astronomy, geography and medicine. Fabulous visual images  

 

 

HSBC History Website  

Wonderful site for business historians launched in July covers the 150 yar history of the HSBC bank including its base in Shanghai and Hongkong. Includes a timeline and online exhibitions on such topics as women in banking and innovations that have changed the banking industry. Includes online guides to the archive collections 

 

 

Global Cybersecurity Index 2020 (ITU) 
The latest annual ranking from the ITU measures national countries legal measures (eg data protection), cybersecurity infrastructure, online child protection measures and cooperation with international measures


Reframing Vivien Leigh: Stardom, Archives and Access
 is Arts and Humanities Research Council Early Career Fellowship funded project led by Dr. Lisa Stead at the University of Exeter. The project examines how the legacies of screen star Vivien Leigh are archived and curated by a range of public museum local  in the South West of England including the Fashion Museum Bath and Topsham Museum. It has some great 3d costume images form her films as well as a storyboard featuring a timeline of a costume from Gone with the wind explaining how it arrived in the collections and was displayed!
