A new resource available via Archive.it 

Aims to preserve the voices of the Inuit indigenous community in Alaska by making a web archive of their key websites

Delta Airlines  digital archive 

Recently made available via the Digital Library of Georgia. This great business and aviation history archive covers 1925 onwards. It includes annual reports including those with merged companies, timetables tracking the growth of travel. Search by keyword. 

  

Caricatures of the Franco Prussian War and the Paris Commune (1870-71)  

Free online images and an exhibition with contextual images from the University of Cambridge Library Virtual exhibition 

Digitised images   

They are mainly derived from collection of six large bound volumes of  caricatures from the Franco-Prussian War and the Paris Commune—(mostly) French and (some) German illustrated plates entitled Collection de caricatures et de charges pour servir à l'histoire de la guerre et de la révolution de 1870-1871 they offer insight into politics. The Franco Prussian war, the Paris Siege and role of Napoleon II  

 

The Pill 

New online exhibition from Europeana containing images taking from Europe’s major national libraries 

It includes discussion of early contraception; women pioneers and the connection with feminism. There are photographs of products. 

 

Mali magic  

Google arts and culture website. This fabulous site was produced in association with UNESCO. It provides free access to thousands of high quality digitised manuscript pages from Timbuktu, religious building images and more. It includes teacher lesson plans which celebrate the  culture of the region and its intellectual and artistic history

 HM Factory Gretna,  Database  

Devil’s Porridge museum has been undertaking a massive project to put together a database of worker records from HM Factory Gretna the largest cordite munitions factory in the world during the first world war. The searchable database includes the names and some details about women workers. There are links to find my past and census materials in some cases.
