UN Digital Portal against Hate Speech – #NoToHate
 New portal provides definitions of what constitutes hate crime and free access to UN resources including: UN Strategy and Plan of Action on Hate Speech, key law instruments, programmes of action and materials from events 


 National Archives and Records Administration: Watergate digital records
To mark the 50th anniversary of the break-in on June 17, 1972 which led eventually led to the resignation of American President Richard Nixon.
The paper records, exhibits, and artifacts from the United States v. G. Gordon Liddy trial are digitized and available to view in the National Archives Catalogue. A new website has been created where you can browse them. They Include images of telephone taps, photographs of accused.  


Institute for the Study o f War Interactive Ukraine Map 

Now available using ArcGis an interactive  map of the current situation on the war in Ukraine. It includes maps Russian claims, Ukraine defence positions. The Methodology is provided .There are also daily static maps on the website    

Gender Equity and Justice 

Free access (time limited so take advantage quickly) to articles from SAGE publishing covering gender equity and justice. Topics include intersectional topics, labour, health, gender identity and the struggle for rights worldwide. 

 Retraction watched Hijacked journal checker 

A tool for researchers to find out about scams involving journal websites which are seeking to dupe them. This lists titles known to have been ‘mirrored’ or hijacked by fraudsters. The methodology is provided on the website which also provides information on scientific papers which have been suspected and retracted because of plagiarism, inaccuracy.   

Women Who Meant Business: Stories of early businesswomen who broke the mould 

A great website maintained by independent researcher Lizzie Broadbent. It includes The FT-She 100 which contains articles and biographies on historic UK women business leaders which she has researched  

Latest addition to the FT-She 100: Ethel M. Wood (1877-1970) feminist campaigner, awarded a CBE, President of 1925-6 and hon sec of wartime Committee on Woman Power. This was based on archives researched at the LSE Library. You can sign up to get regular newsletters about the progress of her work. 


some other news from the LSE  library two great new oral history additions to the digital library 

The first collection is part of the 'These Dangerous Women' community heritage project run by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) to mark the centenary of their founding in 1915. It comprises interviews with  8 women who tell fascinating stories about their time at WILPF.   

The second collection includes the recordings of 14 interviews done to mark the 50th anniversary of Women’s Liberation Movement (WLM) in 2020. For the occasion, the Women's Resource Centre (WRC) run a project, also funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, called ‘Sisters Doing It For Themselves’ to create a unique oral history archive documenting the testimonies of current and past leaders.
