Here is the latest round up of new and interesting sites of the week British Library launch covid 19 oral history testimony database Now available to download from the British Library website where can find information about oral history projects  undertaken by local record offices across the Uk to preserve the people  memory of lockdown, life and experiences in 2020-21 for future generations. Each entry has a link to the website and contact details. News from the LSE, the LSE archives was recently  lucky enough to use an endowment fund from the Women’s library to purchase a letter which gives an account of suffragette Emily Wilding Davison. It contains an account from a witness who visited the hospital after she was hit by a horse at the 1913 Epsom Derby and believed she was regaining consciousness.   Here is the latest update of new and interesting sites of the week for social scientists.     See the blog for recent updates on covid related uk government and social science research  Octopus- new primary research site https://octopuspublishing.org/  Developed by Jisc with a £650,000 grant from research England. The prototype was launched on. 29th June, the platform gets its name from its approach of splitting the research process into eight separate classes of contribution - research problems, hypotheses, methods and protocols, data and results, analyses, interpretations, implementation and peer review.    Here is the latest update of new and interesting sites of the week     Government responses to COVID-19: Lessons on gender equality for a world in turmoil UN   Based on an analysis nearly 5,000 measures adopted by 226 countries and territories during the pandemic this UN Women and UNDP report finds that government responses paid insufficient attention to gender though there were examples of innovation which are highlighted.       The State of Global Learning Poverty: 2022 Update   World Bank report   This new report from the World Bank uses a definition of   learning poverty, as a   measure of children unable to read and understand a simple passage by age 10.
